What Makes Top Realtors Tick? Insights from My Agent Brief Project
I’m in the middle of an exciting project, reaching out to the highest-rated agents across Canada’s 100 largest cities. So far, I’ve spoken to 60 incredible agents (and counting!) for my 100 Agent Brief – a monthly market report where each agent shares insights from their city.
I have to say… I’m REALLY enjoying these conversations. I’ve learned so much, and here’s what many of these top-rated agents (based on Rate-My-Agent.com) have in common:
- Thoughtful and genuinely nice people
- A "sign me up" mentality – no hesitation!
- Busy (who isn’t?) but always make time to chat
- Straightforward – they get right to the point
- Some are feeling the pressure from fast-paced tech changes (AI bots, anyone?)
- Overall – super positive!
Honestly, earlier in my career, I would not have enjoyed this kind of outreach. I probably would’ve been a bit intimidated! But now, the people aspect has become my favorite part of this journey.
A huge shoutout to some agents who’ve made this experience amazing so far: [
✔️ Marc Posselt ✔️,
Patrick Fields,
Laurie Appleton,
Brandon Gee-Moore,
Mitchell Bussieres - RE/MAX of Nanaimo,
Tara Adamyk,
Bryan Pereverseff,
Meaghan McKillop,
Sivage Sivagumaran - Toronto Real Estate Agent - Broker,
Tracey Manton,
Michelle Makos,
Dana Klock]. I appreciate your time, professionalism, and positivity.
I’m curious:
- If you're in real estate, would you expect these traits from top agents?
- Non-realtors: What are the common qualities of top performers in your industry?
- Is anyone else seeing changes in tech that are hard to keep up with? What’s been your experience?
I would love to hear your thoughts.
