The City of Chestermere is a real gem. When you drive the TransCanada Highway to or from Saskachewan, there's an incredible lake just to the south - in the summer it has emerald waters and is full of power boats & wake-boarders. The whole lake is surrounded by beautiful homes.
The community itself, located 23km east of Calgary, is more than just a lake. New homes, good schools and a tight-knit community. Further, it is located to the east which means it is striking distance to one of the most job-creating swathes of Canada - Calgary's light industrial east.
Welcome to the smallest of all the bedroom communities (more room to grow!) with a 2021 population of just under 20,000. Depending on proximity to the lake, real estate prices are (or aren't so) affordable. It could be worth it though, if you're looking for a dream home in a dreamy city.
