Semi-detached homes in Calgary is a whole thing. In the suburbs and bedroom communities, semi-detached often provide a really reliable housing option who's entry level price point is attractive, and which cycles up and down in value less than other property types. With the Alberta market being so cyclical, that could be a good thing. In the city centre, builders often build two semi-detached "infill" homes on one 50' lot. This allows for 19' homes instead of two (pokier) 17' detached homes.
